MAIN JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assessment of Practitioners: Conduct ongoing assessment of practitioners. Give support and monitor progress of each practitioner.
Coaching visits: Visit allocated Day care Centres regularly. Interact with practitioners and support classroom practice; Monitor SOUNS, Lego Play Box and Ubuntu Programmes; Document coaching, planning and reports on a weekly basis.
Training Presentation: Research, plan and present training on ECD topics, as assigned; Take responsibility for attendance registers, payment, and logistics of assigned training presentations.
Lesson planning: Research and develop assigned themes and set up stimulating theme tables; Organize library activities for assigned themes; Take responsibility for attendance register and logistics of assigned lesson planning sessions.
Administrative tasks: Plan weekly assessment and coaching visits, write, and submit reports; Interact with Support Centre visitors and support volunteer programmes; Take responsibility for the recruiting and registration of new Day care Centres, annual practitioner interviews, and signing of agreements. Monitor Toy Library equipment lent to Day care Centres.
COMPETENCIES
Confidence to take leadership in training other teachers, and to present and facilitate training and lesson planning workshops.
Good understanding of the developmental levels of a child.
Implementing and training on elements of a daily pre-school program.

REQUIREMENTS
At least 2 – 3 years’ post practical experience working with children in pre-school.
QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12
Recognized NQF level 4/5 ECD qualification or diploma.
